Sasha Allen has been the sole transgender person who has been through The Battle Rounds of The Voice Live Shows. That is the norm for the past 21 seasons. They are the Newtown, Conn. duo is now in the top 8 of the contest! Sasha has announced that he's transgender on the Blind Auditions package. He said to Parade.com that it was a long process in making that choice. Sasha was transgender in high school and admitted that it was hard to openly reveal an intimate side of him in front of so many individuals. The fans' support and the effect that it can have on the people around, regardless of the fact that it was difficult to take is what made Sasha that his decision was worth it. The song was played before The Voice even existed. We received the song and we were ecstatic. We knew the tune and were thinking of ways to set it up.
